Jewish Studies Offers Grants for Students and Faculty

JEWISH STUDIES STUDENT RESEARCH AND TRAVEL GRANTS

The Jewish Studies program is pleased to announce the availability of additional funds to support student (both undergraduate and graduate) research and travel related to Jewish Studies. Grants are available for amounts up to $10,000, although typical grants will be in the $2000 to $5000 range.

  • December 20, 2018 for funds to be expended January 1, 2019-August 31, 2019 (springsummer 2019)
  • March 1, 2018 for funds to be expended May 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019 (summer-fall 2019)
  • November 1, 2019 for funds to be expended January 1, 2020-August 31, 2020 (springsummer 2020)

JEWISH STUDIES COURSE DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

The Jewish Studies program is pleased to announce the availability of course development funds for creating new courses or significantly revamping existing courses that may be taught as Jewish Studies courses.  Grants up to $15,000 are available and can be used for library research, travel, student assistance and any other expenses related to the development of new courses or major revamping of existing courses. In addition, the funds may be used for guest speakers or other co-curricular endeavors during the first offering of the new or revised course. Under limited circumstances, funds may be available to departments to replace teaching of the faculty member the first time the course is offered.
